Here in NY we have Spring for about five minutes. Once the Winter fades away and the weather warms up, the humidity is not far off in the distance. I have wavy hair, so my days of straight, smooth styles are numbered. Enter beachy waves and curls. I'm always looking for a way to do my hair that works with the humidity.
In warmer weather, I go back and forth between the messy, beachy unkept look and the messy curls look. Both work with the humidity but create totally different looks overall. The technique is similar but the tools I use are what varies.
Which look do you like better?

Messy Curls
What you'll need:
Technique:
I apply Argan Oil only to the ends to keep them polished. I always use a heat protection spray and this L'Oreal one is the best I've found since my Thermasilk (how old am I?) days. I curl my hair with a regular 1 1/4 inch curling iron and finish with sea salt spray. This John Masters Organics Sea Salt Spray has lavender oil, so it gives hair less of a matte finish than the traditional sea salt sprays.

I apply my heat protection as always and then spray some sea salt spray before I use my curling wand. That creates texture before I even start. Then I finish with a light amount of hair spray. My hair smells amazing but it is definitely a little dry from the seal salt.
