“The sky grew darker, painted blue on blue, one stroke at a time, into deeper and deeper shades of night.” ― Haruki Murakami, Dance Dance Dance
I wear a lot of black and white. It is by far my favorite combination. I love that these (non) colors can cross seasons and literally be paired with anything. I feel the most comfortable when I wear these colors. I love to add some accent color to what I wear so I don't look completely boring. Usually, as you might know, I add some shade of pink, but in light of my color of the season being navy blue, I thought I could switch things up a bit.
I am kicking around the idea of giving my September blog posts a navy theme. The cool thing about having a color of the season is that your wardrobe grows by the color. It leaves a lot of options when pairing things with a base of black and white.

When summer hit the first of August I had cut off my summer shopping. I wanted to only buy things that I felt could take me into Fall and the school year. I fell in love with this dress the first second I saw it. I love that this dress is super versatile and that I could not only wear it to school but that I could even wear it in colder weather with black tights and a cardigan.
My first instinct was to pair it with pink (of course) which I did for our Boston weekend.

Reese Witherspoon often wears navy and black together and everyone goes wild for it. I know I was an instant fan of the look. So this time around, I thought I would try something a little unexpected and use my color of the season as an accent this time around.
