A Word on the Valentine's Day Overload...
I've always hated Valentine's Day. It feels contrived and unnecessary. Love every day. Send flowers randomly. It means more.
It was a holiday built around expectation, and there is nothing good about that in my eyes.
Around Christmas time, one of my favorite Instagram friends had posted a picture that said to remember people who struggle through the holidays. That really stuck with me. Some of us don't have valentines. Some of us have valentines that live far away, and this day can sometimes emphasize all that's missing.
There is so much to love in the world and it doesn't have to look any particular way. So love a sunset, love a puppy, love a handbag, love you.
We have ourselves. We should always be our own best friends and Valentine's Day is a great excuse to spoil ourselves a little. Love yourself first. Love yourself more.
There is nothing more important than that. So buy yourself the flowers, and call it a day.
